Right now, I can say that I am sitting in the discomfort zone. This moment has taught me that it’s okay to feel uncomfortable because, in reality, nothing good comes from staying in the comfort zone. There’s no growth, no new experiences, just stagnation.
Being in the discomfort zone is a blessing in disguise because it forces you to think differently. You begin to strategize and solve problems you never would have considered before simply because, in a state of comfort, there was never a need to. This realization takes me back to just a few months ago when I was stuck in my own comfort. And in that space, I was miserable. I knew I wasn’t going anywhere, repeating the same routine every day. Clocking in and out of the gym and rotating between my three part-time jobs. I needed change, and with change comes discomfort.
At the end of the day, the question becomes: Which zone would you rather battle? For me, I’ve learned that struggling through the discomfort zone is far better than remaining stuck in the comfort zone, trapped in my own thoughts. I have learned to be okay with the uncertainty of the unknown because I trust that my life is still being written, that God has something greater in store for me – and He has something great in store for you too.
Xoxo, Harleigh
