My Story

Hi, I’m Harleigh – and while this all started as a travel blog, it’s become much more about the deeper lessons I’ve learned. Through God, through grace, and through real life.

Back in 2019, I discovered my love for exploring new places when I booked a last-minute semester abroad in a quiet port town called La Rochelle, France. I was young, wide-eyed, and completely unsure of what I was doing, but that trip stirred something inside me. A hunger to see the world, meet new people, and grow in ways textbooks could never teach.

From there, the world opened up. In 2022, I studied in Germany, traveled to 15 countries, and returned home knowing deep down that my story in Europe wasn’t finished. A year later, I took another leap of faith. A one-way ticket to Austria, no plan, no promises. Just a whisper in my spirit that this was where I was supposed to be.

But somewhere between the airport terminals and border crossings, God began to shift something in me. Travel used to be about adventure and independence. Now, it’s become a backdrop for the deeper journey: the refining, the surrendering, the becoming. Life stopped being just about where I was going and started being about who I was becoming with God leading the way.

That shift is what transformed this blog. Something I just started for fun.
What began as a space to share stories of some adventures and weekend getaways is now a devotional journal of all sorts of lessons learned that God has walked me through. I have wrote blogs with the purpose of writing to myself in hopes one day I will finally learn what God is speaking to me. And who knows, maybe they will help someone else.

Here is where I have been writing the raw reflections from the “middle places” of life. The places that don’t make the highlight reel. The messy middle where I haven’t had all the answers, where my faith has been tested more than I ever imagined, and where God has continued to show up in ways I didn’t expect.

If you’ve ever felt like you’re stuck in between – between who you were and who you’re becoming, between disappointment and healing, between uncertainty and hope – then welcome to my blog. These stories I have written are from the in-betweens. They’re from the waiting seasons, the surrendered prayers, the quiet miracles, and the days where grace is the only thing holding myself up.

Whoever may be reading, I hope this space reminds you: God is not finished writing your story. Mine is still a deep work in progress. He’s in the middle with you and I. And there is beauty to be found from the middle of it all.
